Exploring the U.S. National Parks…
…Inspired the idea to create a corkboard map larger & lighter & more disassemble-able than any I could find out there.
It’s three pieces of MDF doweled together, then (hand) routed to create the national border while depth cut establishes the state boundaries. Polyurethane soaked to allow for gloss black rattle can paint. Finished off with cork-shaped states hot glued in location.

While a grad student at the University of Michigan, I helped instruct the intro to design and manufacturing course (MECHENG 250) for three semesters. Below are some pictures of my time teaching.
